Vacation – Family
We had a very nice stay and Moraine Motel was a very nice place. Smallish, but very well-appointed rooms. They really provided everything we needed. In room coffee maker, good heating and a/c. Lots of towels and a comfortable bed. You park right outside your room, so luggage is easy. Very nice people to work with. If you are visiting Highground, stay here! You can walk if you want. Not all the amenities of a large chain, but you’ll have all you need.

Semi-Annual Trip

We just stayed 3 days at the Moraine Motel for our annual “Harvest Moon” tour in the Neillsville area to buy pumpkins, gourds, squash, mums and more. We enjoyed the clean, quiet and comfortable room 7. We make use of the refrigerator for our breakfast and lunch supplies. Now there is a coffee maker in the room as well. Kay, the owner, always visits with us about places to eat, things to do and events in the area. We also like to go over to the Highground Veterans Park to hike the trails or walk around the memorials. Such a relaxing place to stay when we come to the area in the spring and fall.

Such A Gem!
Trust us: you should BOOK this gem of a motel! Being big-city people, and skeptical of “glowing” online reviews, my wife and I made a reservation at Moraine Motel with some apprehension. We were so delighted we did.
The room was absolutely charming, very clean, and felt very private. The accents and details around the room added to the cozy atmosphere. The bathroom towels are plentiful and extra-thick and fluffy. The amenities match anything you’ll find at other hotel chains. Kay even thoughtfully took the time to cut out a newspaper article about my daughter’s new teaching job in the area and leave it in our room for us.
And for all this, the cost of the room is HALF of even the least expensive hotel chains, for a stay worthy of a pricey bed and breakfast stay. We’re now convinced the reviews are all glowing because the Moraine Motel is a true gem that deserves all this praise. We will definitely return, and you will be very glad you found this one.

Our room was perfect last night! We did go to Highground last night. Such a beautiful sight to see the memorials lit up. We had a great breakfast at Schmitty’s, then to Highground in daylight. We really enjoyed our time in Neillsville. Thank you so much!

Our second visit after many years and this motel still has plenty of charm! Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Quiet and scenic. The manager, Dawn, makes you feel right at home with her friendly manner. A very good value at a very scenic location.
